Welcome to the Structured Learning Classroom!

I am delighted to get to work with some of the most wonderful students!

This is my first year at Eisenhower Elementary as our program was moved from MacArthur Elementary School over the summer months.  Last year we were at MacArthur as a cohesive Special Education group.  This year was a very positive move for both our staff and our students who came with us.

Prior to my two years at Ft. Leavenworth USD 207, I was a Special Education Teacher for Intermediate at Lansing Elementary School.  Prior to that I was a DODEA/DoDDS teacher stationed at Hohenfels, Germany for 14 years.  While there I taught Special Education, 5th grade, 2nd grade and finally 4th grade.

I call my home the wonderful Black Hills of South Dakota, however, since my daughter and her 5 grown children now live in the Leavenworth/Platte City area, I am making this area my new home.

Trivia 1:  Just a little about me.  I became a teacher in 1978 and taught off and on for a few years (until 1992) before I started working for the State of South Dakota in the Division of Mental Health writing grants, developing programs, and training community mental health centers to discharge from the State Psychiatric facility the homeless mentally ill back into their home communities or reservations, creating what was then called our "Wrap Around Program".

Trivia 2: I have 5 grown children.  My daughter Dawn has 5 boys, My daughter Stephanie has 5 grown children, my son (deceased), and twins adopted from Romania who have Developmental Disabilities.  I have 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
