Stephanie Schwartz Newton
Welcome to Music!
My name is Stephanie Schwartz Newton (Mrs. S.) and I teach general music (K-6), choir (4-6) and band (5-6) at IKE. I have been fortunate to teach at Eisenhower for the last 22 years. I have a wonderful husband, Paul Newton, who served 22 years in the Army as a Military Policeman. We have a delightful four-legged furry family.
My educational background is a Bachelor of Science in Music Education (K-12 Vocal and Instrumental Music) degree from Emporia State University and a Master's Degree in Education from Baker University. I am certified in Orff-Schulwerk Levels. My certifications levels include Level I (Baker University 2006), Orff-Schulwerk Level II & III (University of Nevada Las Vegas 2007/2008) and my Masters Level in Orff-Schulwerk (University of Memphis 2009). I continue to take professional development in Orff-Schulwerk and our music curriculum when opportunities are available.
In addition to the Orff-Schulwerk style of teaching music, the district music departments use the music curriculum Quaver's Marvelous World of Music. Students in grades 2-6 have individual access to Quaver at home via www.quavered.com. Each student has their own unique log-in username and password to access this website.
*2020-2021 SY I am the district's virtual music teacher. I can be reached via email at [email protected].
