Teaching is a passion of mine! I am so thrilled to work with you and your child! It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures. I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us!
I’ve lived my entire life in Kansas, and earned my undergraduate from the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth. I have always been passionate about learning and as a result, I went back to attain my Masters in Special Education just one year later. I hope to establish a desire for learning in every child that enters my classroom.
My ultimate goal for this year is for each of my students to succeed and to become independent and responsible learners. We will explore many new learning formats this year and we will learn to be flexible and adapt to our new learning norms this year. This year second graders will learn and master many new concepts. In math, they will be expected to display fluency with their addition and subtraction facts. They will work on reading and writing persuasive, expository, and narrative texts. We are going to explore our world through hands-on science exploration and delve into our history, communities, and civic responsibilities during social studies.
I believe that every child enters the classroom with an innate curiosity and desire to explore the world around them and that it is through quality teaching and collaboration between school and home that we can help children develop a solid academic foundation and the necessary social skills needed to find success. Together you and I can work together to make this a terrific year for your child and family.
