Melissa Heinen

Background Information: My name is Melissa Heinen. I have taught in Fort Leavenworth School District since 1998. I graduated from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. I received masters’ degree from Pittsburg State University in 2000.

Philosophy: I really enjoy teaching at the Fort Leavenworth School District. I would like to welcome you to 2nd grade! I am excited to be working with your child this year. I look forward to all the marvelous learning that will be taking place. Each child is special and unique, and my goal is to motivate each child to shine to the best of his or her capabilities. I believe that each child possesses the power to reach inside themselves and achieve their full potential. It is my hope that each child will reach a level self-motivation, for every time a child accomplishes something on his or her own, they develop a sense of pride and self-worth. I am here for your child in every possible aspect and I look forward to working together as partners in your child's education. Please contact me as you see needed, and I will do the same.
