Hello to all returning and new students at IKE!
Welcome to our Eisenhower Eagles Family! I'm very excited about meeting you and welcoming you to our school. Before coming into our room, I want you to know a little more about me. I grew up just down the road in Manhattan, Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University. After college, I taught first grade in Gardner, KS and then married my husband and moved with the Army for many years. In 2017, I began my journey at IKE teaching first grade. In December 2020, I achieved my goal of becoming a reading specialist when I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Kansas State University. For the past two years I've had the pleasure of sharing my love of reading and math with students in Power Lab.

Power Lab is a place where students come to find success and confidence in reading and math. We refer to it as Camp I CAN because of our goal oriented mindset. Students may walk in feeling defeated in their abilities, but will learn to create goals and regular habits to overcome obstacles in their learning.

Camp I CAN is a place where everyone is welcome. We recognize cultures and traditions of our students.  Each student receives a Funds of Knowledge sheet to complete.  This is our opportunity to learn about your family's customs, favorite activities and invite you to contribute to our classroom. I look forward to what your child can bring to our classroom!

Eisenhower elementary is full of students and staff that recognize the affects of transitions, deployments and family separation.  As a military wife of twelve years and mom to four military kids, I understand the ups and downs of moving and meeting new friends for your child. We are here to provide an environment that guides your child to not only soar in academics, but in leadership and life skills as well.

I look forward to meeting all of you.
It's a great day to be an IKE Eagle!
